It was only a matter of time

...before politics was joined with hockey. Take it away, Tim Thomas:

For several months, Bruins personnel ranging from owner Jeremy Jacobs to the rank-and-file players knew that Tim Thomas wasn’t planning to attend Monday’s ceremony at the White House. None was surprised that Thomas, one of two Americans on last year’s Stanley Cup-winning roster, would be the lone dissident.

It was Timmy being Timmy.

“[Expletive] selfish [expletive],’’ one team source said.

Bonus ball-ache from Bruins fans here, and probably throughout Twitter.

Normally I wouldn't care that another athlete felt it was necessary to Make A Statement (other than "I'm a really fucking good goaltender"). What annoys me is that I have to agree with Mike Milbury.

That would be this Mike Milbury:

I hate when that happens.

Hmmm, I'd rather listen to this Timmy Thomas.

Agreed. Also, ZRM is banned for dissing hockey.

Have you heard the one about going to a fight and a hockey game breaking out? These things just happen.
